CONGREGATIONAL SERVICES
Compensation Guidelines
The Process for
Calling a DCE, DCO, Deaconess, Lay Minister
The Division for Congregational Services is
charged with helping the Florida-Georgia District carry out its mission of
"Serving, Assisting, and Encouraging Congregations in Ministry" in the
following areas:
Family Ministry
 | Assisting all agencies at all levels (i.e.
young children, youth, young adults, singles, families, senior adults, etc.)
with ministry planning and development |
| Helping congregations encourage commitment to
Christ-like service |
| Encouraging congregations in their affirmation
and support of the traditional family, singles and non-traditional families |
Human Care Ministry
| Encouraging congregations to demonstrate a
sensitivity to basic human needs and to engage in ministries that meet those
needs in the community and congregation |
| Representing the District as it supports and
utilizes its regional human care agencies |
| Participate in the study of human care issues
and communicate information about those issues to the congregations. |
Parish Education
| Working with congregations in assisting their
members to grow in spiritual maturity |
| Assisting congregations in providing Christian
growth opportunities for life-long nurturing of
the faith for people of all ages |
| Encourage congregations in their efforts to
intentionally assimilate members and provide caring support |
Coordination of Ministry
Assessment and Strategic Planning
| Assist congregations in assessment of their
ministry needs and opportunities through the use of strategic planning
resources |
| Identify and promote various professional
consultation options for strategic planning processes for congregations |
| Provide consultative services and resources to
congregations, circuits and regions as they seek to identify a vision and
focus for their ministry. |

Coordination of Leadership
Activities
| Encourage the raising up of visionary leaders
that inspire congregations and the District in God's mission |
| Assist in the development of events and
activities that provide growth opportunities for congregational leaders,
both professional and volunteer |
| Help leaders experience a sense of well-being
and joy as they carry out their God-given calling. |
